HopeWest is dedicated to profoundly changing the way our community experiences serious illness and grief—one family at a time.
Founded in 1993, HopeWest is proud to be celebrating 23 years caring for our friends and neighbors across the Western Slope.
This organization was created through a community-wide vision. Its founders recognized the need for comprehensive, expert and collaborative care for those facing serious illness and the need for effective grief support for their loved ones.
With only six employees, HopeWest cared for 81 patients and their families in 1993 – its first year of operation. Today, HopeWest serves more than 7,000 square miles with 5 offices and a state-of-the-art HopeWest Hospice Care Center. With a staff of 300 and more than 1,500 volunteers, HopeWest provides care to over 2,500 patients and well-over 1,500 individuals coping with grief every year in Mesa, Delta, Montrose, Ouray and Rio Blanco Counties.
